Skittles is a household name and undeniably one of the most popular candies around the world. But one common questions their customers ask is: ‘Where can I get individual flavours?’ The answer is a smart vending machine that allows customers to choose specific flavours and ‘Create the Rainbow’.
Design to Production engaged Concept Evolution as its design partner to work closely with their team to develop the highly sophisticated machines that feature 8 individual flavour hoppers and fully automated delivery system operated via touch screen.
To cater for the specific requirements of these machines, we developed a range of custom injection moulded parts, extrusions, vac formings, custom lighting, and printed glass.
Extensive R&D was conducted on all aspects of the fully custom designed and built machines, including product hoppers with motorised dispensing mechanisms, 3-stage cup delivery system, full suite of sensors, and large array of internally mounted hardware.
