Prototypes are an essential part of testing and refining a new product design.
In the early stages, we may use basic form studies to translate the 3D CAD into something more tactile. The objective of these is to better evaluate the overall size and shape of your product.
As the design progresses, we may produce more detailed prototypes. The materials and finishes of some or all functional components are closer to those specified for production. The purpose is to assess part tolerances and assembly for manufacturing. We may also assess functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetics for the consumer.
Our fully equipped Sydney workshop includes in-house 3D printing capabilities which is highly useful for smaller products and small-scale models of larger products.
In addition to our in-house capabilities, we have a large network of prototyping partners we can call on when we need to use specific materials or processes. All prototype parts are assembled in our workshop and checked by our design team as part of our quality control process, before further testing as required.
